CAVAR es una performance que cultiva un gesto colectivo con el publico asistente. Haciendo un pozo en un terreno baldío en medio del tejido urbano del barrio de La Boca, abre un espacio para fabular modos de habitar la ciudad. La performance explora, cataloga y re-inventa la biodiversidad del territorio. ¿Qué vive y sobrevive debajo del cemento? ¿Que naturalezas históricas emergen?¿Qué ecosistema de relaciones sociales se desarrolla alrededor de la acción de cavar? Durante 3 días 4 performers cavan e invitan a las personas a participar de la acción y a recorrer el terreno mientras pueden escuchar por auriculares un relato ficcional de la investigación. El ultimo día, en asociación con Baag Arquitectura Grupal, se realiza el positivo en cemento de una fracción del pozo, con el fin de realizar una pieza tridimensional.
CAVAR se presentó en octubre de 2021 en El Asunto de lo Remoto, encuentro internacional de performance, en Munar arte.
"CAVAR" is a performance that cultivates a collective gesture in collaboration with audience. By making a hole in a so called “vacant”, “wasteland” lot in the middle of the urban fabric of the neighborhood of La Boca, Buenos Aires, Argentina the project opens a not-obvious-nor-evident regulated common site, an opportunity to explore subways of being together in the city-landscape.
The performance explores, catalogs and re-invents the biodiversity of the territory: what lives and survives under the cement, what historical natures emerge, what kind of ecosystem of social relations unfolds around the action of digging?
During 3 days 4 performers dig and invite people to participate in the action and to walk the ground while they can listen through headphones to a fictional account of the research. Audience would hang out on site, sit and talk. On the last day, in association with Baag Arquitectura Grupal, a fraction of the hole is made positive in concrete in order to create a three-dimensional piece.
CAVAR/DIG was presented in October 2021 at EL ASUNTO DE LO REMOTO, an international performance meeting, at Munar Galery, and DIS_PO_NI_BLE gallery in august 2022.
